After a long absence by the club, it was nice to return to this lovely patch of forest once again.
As expected, this morning's ringing session produced quality rather than quantity. Here are a selection of photos of the more interesting birds that came out of the bags.

The following picture, showing the underside of the Lemon Dove, demonstrates nicely why it was originally called a Cinnamon Dove. Where it derives it's new name is a mystery, as there is no distinct lemon colouring on the bird and there doesn't seem to be any other reference to or association with lemons.

Of two re-captures today, the Collared Sunbird was an interesting record, having been ringed as an adult in the same location on 16th July 2005, just under 7 years ago.
Birds ringed: Bown Scrub-Robin, Olive Sunbird, Red-capped Robin-Chat, Blue-mantled Crested-Flycatcher, White-starred Robin, Lemon Dove (2), Terrestrial Brownbul (2), Collared Sunbird (re-capture), Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, Green-backed Camaroptera (re-capture), Square-tailed Drongo.
