Attendees: Liz Blomeyer, Stan &
Val Culley, Stanley & Asothie Gengan, Sandy Olver, Frans & Lana du
Plooy, Andy Ruffle, Ron & Elaine Whitham. (11 attendees).
Despite perfect weather conditions for
this morning’s ringing session, the birds were not particularly co-operative.
Only six birds were ringed- 1 x Brown Scrub-Robin, 2 x Lemon Dove (male &
female), 1x Olive Thrush and 2 x immature Green Twinspot.
It was very nice to see the comparison
between the male and female Lemon Doves and of course the immature Green Twinspots
were very special. The immature twinspot can be distinguished from a female by
the lack of spots on the flanks. You can see the spots just starting to develop
in the photo below.

There was also a re-capture of a Terrestrial Brownbul, which was originally ringed on 2nd Feb 2011 in the same location as an adult female.
